Rubberwood is harvested from rubber trees that are grown in abundance in Malaysia. It is internationally recognised as "eco-friendly timber" and the Malaysian Government ensures sustainability through a well-managed re-forestation program.

Jayakas uses rubberwood exclusively in its operations, and sources it from well-managed plantations which have been in existence since the early 1900s.

Creamy to light-brown in hue, this material is durable yet easy to work on, and attractive to the eye. Hence, it is ideally suited to furniture making. At Jayakas, we fully utilise our consumption of rubberwood, maximising its usage from log to sawdust.

By promoting the use of rubberwood as the key raw material in the furniture industry, we are proud to contribute to the conservation of the Malaysian rainforest which is one of the oldest of its kind in the world.
