Treatment Process

Generally, rubberwoods are being processed and treated in a typical standard wood process before usage in various industries. The treatment process also encourages durability and quality of the rubberwood. The treatment process are simplified as the 6 simple stages below:

Stage 1 : Harvesting & Cutting

Rubberwood are being harvested when a suitable rubber tree is being identified after its expiry from its rubber latex production. Raw rubberwood harvested are then immediately transported to the processing factory to be treated as rubberwood are prone to bacteria infection and fungi growth.

Stage 2 : Pressurized Preservation Treatment

The raw rubberwood are then being injected and soaked with preservation liquid chemical compound that will prevent rotting process and protection from termites infestation. This process will take place in a pressure chamber in which is vacuum sealed and filled with the liquid chemical. The pressure will progressively increased up to 5 to 10 kgm -3 and will be maintained at a duration of 20 minutes.

Stage 3 : Kiln Drying

Rubberwood will be left in a kiln to be dried from excess moisture to attain uniform moisture level. This drying process will help in increasing its durability, prevention of surface cracking and splitting. It also enables a decrease in total weight to facilitate cost effective transportation.

Stage 4 : Quality Control Inspection

Rubberwood are being carefully inspected for its flaw after the treatment process to ensure quality. Each piece of wood will be resize and sorted as accordingly after the property inspection done by qualified personels.

Stage 5 : Packaging

Rubberwood will be carefully packed in stackings of cubic meter bundles and tighly wrapped in waterproof wrappers. This packaging manner will ensure freshness, preventing water seepage and staining.

Stage 6 : Fumigating and Shipping

Rubberwood will be fumigated as required by the Agricutural Department of Malaysia in order to enable its protection from bacteria and fungi infection. This will be done in a simple spraying of the chemical to the rubberwood.

Finally, the rubberwood is ready to be shipped to the specific locations!
